Adirondack Rural Health Network

Organization

The Adirondack Rural Health Network (ARHN) is one of 34 networks throughout New York State that receives funding from the New York State Department of Health, Office of Rural Health. The Rural Health Network Development program seeks to improve the health of New York’s rural communities by providing support for rural providers to improve access to care, enhance coordination of services, increase efficiency of service delivery, and introduce needed community services through the formation and operation of rural health networks.

The Upper Hudson Primary Care Consortium, a not-for-profit corporation that is licensed under the New York State Public Health Law as an Article 28 Central Services Facility, is the lead agency for the unincorporated ARHN. The ARHN is organized according to a memorandum of agreement and governed by a Steering Committee whose members are designated by participating organizations. The Steering Committee meets bi-monthly to monitor the progress of each Network objective, review finances and address all matters relevant to the operation or further development of the Network.

Leadership of the ARHN is provided by a Chair and Vice-Chair elected from the membership. A full-time Network Director, part-time Program Coordinator and part-time Finance Director provides staff support.
