Edit an Existing Listing Online

To edit an existing listing, first pull up the organization's complete listing page, then click the EDIT link on the bottom, right of that page. Edits will be accepted only from authorized individuals.

Additional Suggestions for Editing or Adding Your Organization

The advantage of an online health services directory is that users can search for your organization by name, service, or target population.

To enhance your visibility in the resource directory, consider the following suggestions:

Topic Search: Pay special attention to four main areas in the form: Mission/Objectives, Services, Target Population, and Common Search Terms. These four sections of information are used in the TOPIC search as it looks for matches between the user's search term and what you have entered for your organization. Use as many descriptive terms as you can in those sections, including professional and technical terms, as well as commonly used lay terms.
Correct Spelling: Make sure you spell names, services, and health issues correctly .
Use Words in Common Use: Keep in mind that the public will be using health terms that are in common use. If there are commonly used words for services, groups, or issues, use those as well as more technical terms. If you provide dental services you might want to use the words dentist, tooth, and teeth, in addition to dentistry and oral health. If you provide services to the elderly you might use the terms aging, old, elderly, seniors, over 65, retired, etc. Baby doctor, kids, youth, teenager, etc. may be searched for as often as pediatrician.
Plurals and Alternative Spellings: The search tools rely on a complete word match, so if you use senior and someone types in a search for seniors your organization will not come up in the results. Use as many alternatives as are feasible in your Mission, Target Population, and Services descriptions, then add others to the Common Search Terms. For example, if you serve seniors, your common search terms could include: elder elderly elders senior seniors aged aging old age, etc .
Common Search Terms: Enter as many words as you can think of in the search terms box. You do not need to use commas and the words should be in all lower case. You could add capitalized versions if they are in common use, such as HIV, but that is not necessary. Include singular and plural forms if both are commonly used, such as: parent parents parenting family families teen teens teenagers.
